Why Work with Me
I also understand the quieter struggles that don’t always get spoken about: the loss of motivation, the erosion of passion, the emotional fatigue, the moments where you wonder if you’re still the same practitioner you once were. And I understand the emotional strain that complex workplace situations — including formal processes — can have on your wellbeing and your sense of who you are as an OT.
OT has always been my passion — not just the work, but the values beneath it: the belief in people’s potential, the importance of meaning and identity, the power of occupation to rebuild lives, and the deep respect for the whole person.
These values shape how I supervise. They shape how I listen, hold space, and support you to connect with the parts of yourself that may have been overshadowed by stress, pressure or change.
With over two decades of NHS experience across clinical, community and leadership roles, I understand the pressures, expectations and emotional demands that come with being an Occupational Therapist. I’ve lived the reality of holding a profession that asks so much of us — our compassion, our resilience, our boundaries, our identity — often all at once.I know what it feels like when your confidence is impacted, when your sense of who you are as an OT becomes blurred, or when you’re trying to step into leadership while still wanting to hold onto the heart of the profession. I’ve been in places where I wasn’t sure how to maintain my OT identity in a leadership role, and I know how disorientating that can feel.
Occupational Therapy & Leadership
Alongside my supervision work, I’m currently in a leadership role myself. I know first‑hand how challenging it can be to step into leadership while trying to stay connected to your OT identity — the values, the way of seeing people, the belief in meaning and occupation, the relational heart of the profession. It’s something I’ve had to navigate personally, and it’s shaped the way I support others.
I also believe deeply that Occupational Therapists make exceptional leaders. We bring a way of thinking that is holistic, compassionate and grounded in real human experience. We understand complexity, we see the bigger picture, and we hold people — staff, teams, service users — with care and clarity. When OTs step into leadership, they bring all the best parts of the profession with them: values‑based decision‑making, creativity, problem‑solving, empathy, and a commitment to enabling others to thrive.
But it isn’t always easy. Leadership can stretch your identity, blur your sense of who you are, or make you feel pulled away from the parts of OT that matter most. I’ve been there. I know the tension of wanting to lead well while still feeling like an OT at your core.
My supervision offers a space to explore that — to strengthen your leadership in a way that feels authentic, grounded and aligned with your OT values.
What to Expect
Supervision with me offers a steady, reflective space where you can explore your experiences, connect with your values and feel genuinely held in your role. It’s a place where you can slow down, think things through and feel supported with whatever you’re navigating. We take things at a pace that feels manageable, and the focus is always on what matters most to you — your wellbeing, your confidence, your professional identity and the realities of your role. You can expect a grounded, reflective conversation where you’re met with curiosity rather than judgement. We explore what’s happening in your work and how it’s affecting you, drawing on simple reflective models to help you make sense of things and find clarity. Sometimes the work is restorative, sometimes it’s about learning or planning, and sometimes it’s simply about having a safe space to talk honestly.Sessions are flexible and shaped around your needs. You choose what you bring, and together we explore it gently but purposefully — whether that’s leadership challenges, team dynamics, HCPC worries, burnout, or feeling unsure of your direction. My role is to hold the space with you, offer perspective when helpful, and support you to reconnect with your strengths, values and next steps.Above all, you can expect a supportive professional relationship built on trust, respect and shared purpose — a space where you don’t have to hold everything on your own.Supervision - FAQ
What’s the difference between supervision and coaching?
Supervision offers a reflective, supportive space to think through your practice, explore challenges and receive guidance where needed. It focuses on safe, ethical, confident professional work.
Coaching is different. It’s a future‑focused space where you explore your own answers, direction and goals. Rather than offering advice, coaching supports you to gain clarity, build confidence and move toward what matters to you.
Do you offer ad‑hoc or one‑off sessions?
Yes. You can book a single session or ongoing supervision, depending on what you need.
Do you supervise non‑OTs?
My supervision is primarily for Occupational Therapists, but I also work with other allied health professionals where reflective practice is central to their role.
Can I bring both clinical and career questions?
Absolutely. Many people use supervision to explore clinical reasoning, boundaries, confidence, leadership, transitions and professional identity.
How often do sessions take place?
Most people choose monthly sessions, but frequency can be adjusted to suit your role and workload.
